Stefan Dunatov

Chief Strategist

Stefan is the Chief Strategist at Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC). He joined in August 2021. He is responsible for the overall strategic asset allocation of the Council, including setting the Council capital budget, management of the Council overlay portfolio, interest rate and foreign exchange hedging.

With almost 30 years of global experience in the investment management industry, he was previously the EVP and Global Head of Investment Strategy and Risk at the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation and prior to that, Chief Investment Officer at Coal Pensions UK. Stefan has also worked at HSBC, Deutsche Asset Management, Equitas (Lloyd’s of London) Ltd. and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.

He is currently a member of the Investment Committee of the Wellcome Trust, a medical research endowment based in London.

Stefan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. He also holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics & Political Science.
